He joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Rhode Island where he met me. We married July 11, 1969. We then started our family and our daughter, Michelle was born. She was followed by Shawn, Patrick and Brandon. Would You Like to Swing On a Star? Wayne often whistled this tune. He was an optimistic person and looked on the bright side. His love of sports stayed strong. Football and baseball. He coached young kids including our sons and then our grandsons as well. Family oriented, a hard worker and optimist, he loved life. Here are some thoughts from our kids and family. "My favorite thing about Wayne is he always had fun and loved to dance and he was great at dancing!" "My Big Brother, my Best Friend." "My Dad always had an answer for any question I asked." "Daddio!!!!" "I loved Dad how he pushed me to do better and no matter what never gave up on me." "He always believed in me." "My Brother was always the life of the party!" "Dad was my biggest fan next to mom. He tried to make it every game of mine no matter rain or shine." "Dad reminded me of a grizzly bear and a big teddy bear at the same time; strong and fierce and soft and cuddly ." "He was my coach, father, and my friend." "He was a big kid at heart."
