Mrs Skillman was a mother I looked up to. Because of her I learned to love to sew, I spent many hours on her porch sewing Barbie doll clothes with her daughter Pat, then as a mother sewed birthday and Halloween costumes for my 1st born, Michelle. I planted rhubarb in my garden because I remembered she had some behind the garage , mine continues to produce so many stalks I can never do enough with or find people to gift it to. I moved away from Southgate 40 years ago. I made sure that whenever I was home visiting my mom that I walked down the block to visit with her. She was so easy to talk with and ask her advice about everyday life turmoil. She always gave me advice maybe not always what I wanted to hear, but needed to hear . I will truly miss her, I considered her my 2nd mom. Rest in peace Mrs. Skillman, you deserve a good rest. Please watch over us all and continue to guide us. Sincerely, Karen Maschke
