Florence Louise Flinkman age 92 passed peacefully October 21, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born July 13, 1925 in Detroit to Earl and Susan Chamberlain. Upon graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Florence would meet and marry the love of her life, her husband of 53 years, Ernest Flinkman. They would set up their home in Taylor where they lived comfortably while raising their family of five. They would later move to Riverview after Ernest’s retirement.
Florence lived her life to the fullest through the pleasures of being a loving wife and raising her five children: Elaine Gagnon (Raymond), Betty Bossick (Ronald), Eric Flinkman (Olga), Denise Bowen (Daniel), and James Flinkman (Brenda). Also left behind to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren: Holly Bourque (Mark), Shane Bossick (Christina), Kristen DeVito (Daniel), Conan Brooks (Tanya), Jason Flinkman (Julie), and Mathew Flinkman. In addition she is survived by eleven great grandchildren: Sydney Bourque, Jacob Bourque, Justin Bourque, Brooke Bossick, Paige Bossick, Brianna Brooks, Ryan Brooks, Emma Flinkman, Evan Flinkman, Olivia Flinkman, and Allison DeVito.
Florence will be remembered as a very gifted seamstress, sewing beautiful dresses for her three daughters and creating artistic quilts and crafts. She will also be remembered for her generous spirit as she often donated to needy causes as well as donating or gifting her crafts and quilts to those in need.
