George William (Bill) Kelly.
Born in December 1932 near Columbus, Ohio to the late Eugene and Ella (Dorris) Kelly, he attended local Catholic high school and Ohio University. Bill proudly served in the U. S. Air Force and later in the Reserves. He relocated with family to the Detroit area shortly after military service to continue employment with United Technologies (Raytheon). His life was centered around his family and strong Catholic faith. He was an active parishioner of St. Pius X Church for over 60 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He coached little league baseball for many years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, getting together with family and rounds of golf with relatives and friends. Always gracious, Bill was known for his warm personality, welcoming demeanor and always being there for others.
Bill is survived by his children Tim (Holly) Kelly, Mike (Michelle) Kelly and Dan Kelly; grandchildren Chris Kelly (Caroline), Lauren Hankins (Brian), Jared Kelly, Jeff Kelly, Meghan Kelly and Erin Kelly; and great-grandchild Liam Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Patricia of 60 years, sisters Rea Ehrler (Joe), Norma Linville (Bill), Mary Groves (Gene), Dory Langwasser (John) and daugher-in-law Susan Kelly.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2026, 11:00 AM (Instate/Gathering at 10:30 AM) at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Southgate, MI.
