Obituary of Isela I. Arteaga
August 10, 1968 - February 6, 2025
Isela I. Arteaga. Age 56 of Woodhaven.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed into the hands of our Lord on February 6th, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan. Isela was born in Texas and raised in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico – she was very proud of her heritage. Married to the love of her life, Gabriel, for 40 years; together they raised three children and two grandchildren. Being a mother and grandmother was her favorite thing in the world, and she loved her family deeply.
Music, dance, and song were sources of joy throughout Isela's life. A talented dancer, she delighted in performing with dance teams in her youth. Her artistic talents extended to drawing; she was also an avid puzzle enthusiast and loved TV shows and movies, sharing these passions with her family.
Isela's courage and resilience were truly inspiring. On February 6th, 2024, she experienced cardiac arrest and was down for 40 minutes, but defied the odds, receiving the miracle of exactly one additional year of stable health with her family. During this time, she created more cherished memories and eagerly anticipated the birth of her fourth grandchild.
She is now at peace in Heaven with her parents, Alfonso and Maria Esthela Gonzalez, and her brother, Efrain Gonzalez, looking down, protecting her beloved family, to whom she was a shining example of unconditional love and the importance of sticking together.
Isela is survived by her devoted and loving husband Gabriel; daughter Chris (Shannon) Carloni; sons Gabriel and Adonis Arteaga; grandchildren Gabriel, Juliana, Katelyn, and a Baby Boy due in March; her sister Mirna Gonzalez; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The American Heart Association are appreciated, honoring her strength and spirit in fighting heart disease.
