Obituary of Beverley Sunday
December 3, 1933 - March 17, 2025
Beverley Ann Sunday. Age 91 of Trenton.
With profound sorrow and great admiration, we announce the passing of Beverley Sunday, an extraordinary lady who lived a remarkable life of fierce independence, contagious hilarity, admirable grit and deep devotion to her family and her faith.
Beverley was born in River Rouge, Michigan, on December 3, 1933 to the late George and Mamie Sunday. From a young age, she displayed an unwavering spirit and determination as well as a deep love for music and making others smile, shown most remarkably through her years of tap dancing with her beloved twin sister, Shirley.
Growing up, Beverley pursued her ambitious goals, joining the workforce at Michigan Bell, something that she remained very proud of after her retirement. Beyond her professional life, Beverley was a bubbly and giving aunt, great aunt and godmother to many. Lovingly referred to as “Bubba” or “Aunt Bea” by those who adored her, she will forever be remembered for creating joyous memories, laughter and smiles wherever she went. Never an ice cream truck went by without Aunt Bea offering to treat everyone to a snack. From fort building on her porch to playing cards and from Disney days to lunch dates brimming with meaningful conversations, Beverley served as a best friend, sounding board and source of levity for many.
Beverley was a devoted family person. She cherished her relationships with her departed sister, Shirley, departed brother George and their extended family. Beverley was a loving aunt to Debbie (Mark) Hoffman, Susan (Jim) Johnson, Mark (Alice) Sunday, Karen (John) Spencer and Gayle Kozimor, who preceded her in death.
Beverley’s love, wit and mentorship will forever be remembered by her family, friends and neighbors. She will also be celebrated for her generosity and faith-driven life. She actively supported numerous charitable causes and organizations, especially the City of Southgate and St. Pius X Church.
Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and know that her memory will continue to inspire generations to come.
