Obituary of Thomas Charles Nix
November 7, 1952 – April 26, 2025
Thomas Charles Nix. Age 72 of Brownstown.
Beloved companion of Pat Vassel.
Tom and Pat had a unique relationship. They enjoyed being out and spending time together, whether walking through stores or trying new local restaurants. If asked, Tom’s favorite things would have been spending time with Pat and watching the 6 grandkids “do their thing”. He loved the dance recitals, attending the numerous sporting events to watch the kids compete, and most recently, he made some treasured memories at Pat’s only grandson’s wedding - pictures to prove that. He will be missed at the lake, on family vacations and especially around the holidays.
Tom had fought many health issues over the past several months. Pat was able to care for him with the help of hospice care, as well as the added support in recent weeks from Tom’s step-daughter, Cathy Bailey, and his youngest sister, Cindy Farrugia, as well as her daughter, Lindsay. Over the past couple of weeks, Tom and Lindsay were able to reminisce and get reacquainted. The help from Cathy, Cindy and Lindsay made it possible for Tom to pass peacefully at his home, with Pat by his side.
One of his proudest accomplishments was being a veteran of the US Army.
Tom will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, at a later date.
