Family Tribute ~
The most devoted husband to Rosita and proudest Papa to his three beautiful children. This September would mark 40 years of a loving marriage. Louie grew up in Southwest Detroit as the oldest child of immigrant parents from Mexico. His relentless work ethic helped him become a successful sales engineer at several companies over the course of 50 years. During this time, he met some of his greatest friends. However, his hard work did not stop with his profession. It translated to every single aspect of his life and contributed to his decorated career in Taekwondo as a 4th degree black belt and title as Sensei.
During the summers he loved going up north to the (garage that thinks it’s a) cottage and spending time with his beloved family and making memories to last a lifetime. He had the biggest sweet tooth and the greatest obsession with watermelon, but nothing compared to his love for his wife’s cooking. He cherished his pool table and would take any chance he had to challenge someone in a game. In another life he was probably a photographer and/or a videographer as you almost never saw him without his camera or video camera. Shopping was never his thing, unless you were talking about the dollar store, then that’s one of his favorite places. You could often find Louie either watching Detroit sports or listening to Motown music. Artists like The Temptations and Marvin Gaye were among his favorites, and the second a song started playing he’d start belting out the lyrics or grabbed his wife for a dance. Finally, he always knew how to make people laugh and make anyone he met, even complete strangers, feel loved and important.
Above all else Louie was proud of his Mexican heritage and was a family man to his core. It seemed like every decision and every second of every day he was thinking about how he could be the best Papa and husband. His greatest joy was his 3 kids. His eyes radiated with pride anytime he got to spend time with them or even talk about them. He was not only a hero to them, but to countless others who viewed Louie as a father figure. A role he welcomed and treasured. To be loved by him was the greatest privilege and honor. It’s an entirely new echelon, with love so fierce it’s hard to comprehend. Louie’s love and unequivocal work ethic has culminated a legacy to last for years and a promise of beautiful days for eternity.
