Family Tribute
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Albert Lloyd Brusseau announces his peaceful passing. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and a proud Detroiter whose life was defined by hard work, a passion for family, and community spirit.
Albert was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 11th, 1939, to Ruth Margaret Dertinger and Joseph Albert Brusseau. He was the oldest of four children, survived by his brother Norman Brusseau. He attended All Saints Catholic School, where he discovered his lifelong love for basketball, excelling as a player and later as a coach. This passion for sports and mentorship reflected his dedication to community and to developing young athletes. He graduated from All Saints Catholic High School in 1957.
After high school, Albert honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, a period of service that instilled in him discipline and resilience. He worked as a skilled trade carpenter before joining the Budd Company, an automotive manufacturer, as a security guard, where he served for 35 years before retiring in 2005.
In his personal life, Albert dedicated himself to his family. He never missed an opportunity to attend family events and gatherings, ensuring he was always present for those he loved. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of friends at the Moose Lodge.
Albert’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his two children, Roger Berry and Renee (Eric) Vazquez; and four grandchildren: Roger Berry Jr., Nathan Vazquez, Matthew Vazquez, and Justin Vazquez. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Berry; his siblings, Dennis and Barbara Brusseau; and his parents.
