Obituary of Craig Burwitz
November 23, 1960 - December 14, 2025.
Craig Burwitz. Age 65 of Dearborn Heights.
Craig Burwitz passed away after his long-fought battle with cancer at the age of 65 on December 14, 2025, leaving behind a family who meant everything to him. Craig was a kind, thoughtful, and stubborn man in the best sense of the word—steadfast in his beliefs, loyal to those he loved, and unwavering in his devotion to family.
He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. Craig was a devoted fan of Detroit sports, proudly cheering on the Red Wings and Tigers through every season. He loved palm trees, warm breezes, and the laid-back beauty of Key West, a place that reflected his appreciation for relaxation and sunshine. Above all else, Craig cherished time spent with his family, creating memories that will be held close forever.
Craig is survived by his children, his daughter, Alexandria Lamb (Nate); his son, Jared Burwitz; and his beloved grandchildren, Skyler and Carter, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Burwitz (Joleen), and his father, David Meyer, along with extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Meyer; his sister, Michaela Meyer; and his loving wife, Cynthia Burwitz, whom he held forever in his heart.
Craig’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the strong presence he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
