Robert Joseph “Bob” Carson
August 25, 1945 – December 18, 2025
Robert Joseph “Bob” Carson, age 80, passed away on December 18, 2025. Born on August 25, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Bob was raised in the city he proudly called home and carried his Detroit roots with him throughout his life. He was the beloved son of the late Cecelia Patricia Byron and Clarence Joseph Carson.
Bob was a proud Vietnam veteran and a member of the Wyandotte American Legion. He carried the experiences and camaraderie of his service years with quiet pride.
He had a lifelong love of music and classic cars, owning several over the years and taking great joy in them. Bob was well known for his sense of humor, his friendly nature, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He genuinely loved people, and in return, people loved him.
Bob is survived by his children, Jennifer Carson, Matthew (Kristen) Carson, Magdalene (Joe) Bailo, and Joseph Carson. He was the proud grandfather of Jack Avery Carson, Collin Robert Carson, and Julia June Bailo, who brought him much happiness.
He was also supported in his later years by his former wife, Paulette Carson, with whom he shared a longstanding bond and continued care for one another.
Bob will be remembered for his humor, his stories, and the connections he made throughout his life. His memory lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Memorial and burial will be held on May 4th at 2:00 pm at The Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly MI.
