Obituary of Regina Ann Spivey

October 25, 1945 - December 23, 2025

Regina Spivey, age 80, born in Washington, D.C., passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 23, 2025. She was a loving wife to the late James Spivey, whom she married in 1967.

Regina was a dedicated educator, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Sienna Heights University in June 1967, followed by a Master’s in Education from Wayne State University in 1997. Her teaching career spanned from 1970 to 1995 at St. Pius in Southgate, where she inspired countless students. She later served as Principal at St. Stanislaus in Wyandotte from 1995 to 2001. In 1983, she co-founded Spiwin & Company, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit, which she nurtured until 2007.

In 2007, Regina and her husband moved to Green Valley, Arizona, where she lived until 2021. Regina was known for her infectious personality, making everyone she met feel as though they had known her for a lifetime. Her warmth and laughter brightened even the darkest days, and her remarkable ability to bring people together left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She took great joy in supporting the University of Arizona women's softball team and had a passion for travel, often creating lifelong friendships along the way. Some of her most cherished adventures included a cruise to Alaska, attending Mass with the Pope in Rome, and a memorable tour of the National Parks.

Regina will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her students, parents, and teachers, as well as for the unconditional love she showed to her children and grandchildren. Her generosity of spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she inspired.

She is survived by her son Edward Spivey; her daughter Beth Moore (Michael); her grandchildren David and Isabella Moore; and her siblings Dr. Raymond (Connie) Winfield and Rosemary (Mark) Kerrins.
