Obituary of Janice Lund

LUND, Janice E., of Grosse Ile, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born on October 31, 1948, in Marlin, Texas, Janice was the daughter of Melvin Hall and Martha Lucille (Mitchell) Hall. She shared a special, lifelong bond with her twin sister, E. Joyce Peach, who preceded her in death. Janice lost her father at a very young age, and her mother later married Thomas Amick, who helped raise the family and remained an important and steady presence throughout her life.

Janice was a woman of quiet strength, independence, and deep devotion to her family. She showed her love through care, loyalty, and steadfast support, and she valued close, meaningful relationships. Above all, she was a proud and loving mother, deeply devoted to her sons. After the loss of her twin sister Joyce, Janice naturally stepped into the role of a caring and dependable mother figure to her nieces, Kelly Tsamis and Winter Peach, offering them guidance, comfort, and unconditional love.

She was an earthy and curious soul, drawn to the beauty and mystery of the natural world. Janice had a lifelong appreciation for gemstones and geology, explored astrology for a time, and held a deep respect for Native American art. These interests reflected her thoughtful spirit, creativity, and desire to understand the world on a deeper level.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur L. MacNee III and Sean Patrick MacNee; her mother, Martha Lucille Amick; her sister, Karen Amick Free; her brother, Scott Amick; her nieces, Kelly Tsamis and Winter Peach; and many extended family members, including nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, several of whom reside in Pensacola, Florida.

In accordance with her wishes, Janice was cremated, and her remains will be placed in a bronze urn and released in the Gulf of Mexico near Homosassa, where her twin sister’s ashes were previously released—a place of peace and meaning for their family.

A private remembrance will be held by the family.
