Family Tribute ~
George Jakubik was born February 19, 1933 and died January 19, 2026 just one month before his 93rd birthday. He was born to Gizella and George Jakubik and enjoyed a happy childhood in Delray with his parents and older brother Joe.
He and his future wife, Barbara, both attended Boynton Elementary School in Southwest Detroit although they did not know one another during their childhoods. George entered the United States Navy immediately after high school graduation. Upon his discharge he returned to Ford Motor Company where he had started working in the mail room as a high schooler. He retired from Ford as a manager after a 40-year career.
George married Barbara in 1956 and they enjoyed a happy marriage that lasted just two weeks short of 70 years. They were blessed with five children, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
George will long be remembered for his love and generosity to his family and friends.

Our History

The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936.
