Obituary of Gilbert Joseph Dubeau
November 18, 1941 – February 11, 2026
Gilbert Joseph Dubeau. Age 84 of Brownstown Township, Michigan.
Gilbert was the beloved husband of the late Joanne and a devoted father of Debbie (Mark) Waligorski, Cindy Waters, Theresa Dubeau and Cheryl (Johnny) Guth. He was the dearest grandfather of Nichole Waters, Jessica Waters (Shawn Ballerstadt), Melissa Waligorski, Mark Waligorski Jr., and Vanessa (John) Rodriguez and proud great grandfather of Dominic Waters, Mackenzie Lamar and Isabella Rodriguez. He is also survived by his cherished godchildren, Michael Bennett, Kim Paré, and David Provost, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Gilbert’s infectious smile could light up any room, and his laugh was unforgettable. He was truly the best “Papa” - always present, always supportive, and always ready with a warm hug. He loved being “Papa” and especially loved sneaking his grandchildren candy whenever he could. A best friend to many, he had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Gilbert spent his life as a dedicated truck driver and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 299. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he built along the way. Outside of work, he was an avid card player who loved nothing more than spending time with friends at the Moose, sharing stories, laughter, and a good game. He was also an avid bowler and truly loved to bowl.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Gilbert’s name.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
