Obituary of Winifred Pelland
August 17, 1934 – February 23, 2026
Winifred Pelland. Age 91 of Southgate.
Winifred Dorothy (Boland), passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. Winnie was born at home in Detroit, Michigan to the late Alice (Owens) and Wilfred Boland. She grew up in River Rouge and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
After graduating high school, Winnie worked at U.S Gypsum Co. as a Secretary. In May 1955, she married Ken, they were married for 61 years. Shortly after their marriage she became a home maker and a mother. Winnie took pride in her faith, family and home.
Winnie was a part of the neighborhood card club for over forty years. She entered several baking contests and won several medals and hosted several backyard bbq’s. She enjoyed dancing and music. Most of all she loved traveling with her brother and spending time with her siblings.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Pelland. Loving mother of Michele Corker, Brian (Krista) Pelland, Denise (Tom) Gray, Kenneth (Nancy) Pelland and the late Kirk Pelland. Loving Grandmother to Arthur lll (Anastasia) Corker, Phillip Corker, Kathrine (Wayne Jr.) Louzon, Emily Hicks, Derek (Giulia) Pelland, Sarah (Thomas) Wallen, Heather Batko, Ashley Batko, Kirk (Tara) Pelland, Kenneth Pelland, Phillip (Makayla) Pelland, Marissa Pelland, Lauren Pelland. Loving Great-Grandmother to Gabriel, Arthur IV, Isabella, Austin, Tyler Franklin, Ethan, Charlie, Carolina, Linda, Bradley, Loralei, Lilian, K.C., Brantley. Several nieces, nephews and friends. Also preceded in death by her sisters Margie Horrigan and Mary Ann Laurain. Her brothers William and Thomas Bolland.
Winnie lived her life as a testimony to her unwavering faith in God. She was a generous contributor to her Parish.
In lieu of flowers donations can be in her honor to St. Pius Catholic Church or Alzheimer’s Association.

The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936.
