Obituary of Pastor Hillermo Cordeniel
June 25, 1962 - March 4, 2026
Pastor Hillermo N. Cordeniel. Age 63 of New Boston.
Pastor of the Philippines International Christian Church of Warren.
Hillermo Nojas Cordeniel, lovingly known as Hil, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 4, 2026, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 63. Born on June 25, 1962, in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, Philippines, he was the cherished son of Pedro and Pilar Cordeniel, and brother to his 10 siblings.
Hil graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Riverside College in Bacolod City as part of the class of 1983. His dedication to caring for others and helping his family back home led him to a remarkable career as an ICU nurse for over 25 years, and 4 years as an IV/PICC nurse at the Detroit Receiving Hospital. In 2002 Hil was led by the Lord to attend the Michigan Theological Seminary in Plymouth, where he graduated in 2006. In 2010 Hil was called to pastor the Philippine International Christian Church in Warren, Michigan.
In 2019, Hil took a leap of faith and resigned from nursing to give God his full time and energy in pastoring the Lord’s flock. Since then Hil was encouraged to see the church grow not only in number but in maturity over the years. Hil stayed committed to attending every service, prayer meeting, Bible study, or church outing no matter the weather and the long drive.
Above all else, Hil treasured his family. He is survived by Nilda, his devoted wife of 40 years; their children Markhille (Ashley), Michelle, Merribeth (PJ), and Marvin; and an eagerly anticipated grandson who will carry forward Hil’s legacy. His family was the heart of his world, and he took great importance in spending time with them whenever he could.
Hil’s journey touched countless lives through his faith as a pastor, compassion as a nurse, and his love as a husband, father, and friend. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
May Hil’s legacy of love and service bring comfort to all who mourn his passing, knowing full well that he is with his Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
