Family Tribute ~
Jill was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leila and Ralph Parker, Uncle Paul Parker, her Sister and Brother in Law, Sue and Gerald Jackson.
Jill was a proud graduate of Flat Rock High School Class of 1961 and Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1964. Jill was a friend to all, many life long friends to this day.
Jill was married to her high school sweetheart, Jim Newton, on September 17, 1965. She began her nursing career taking care of people in hospitals and then was a visiting nurse caring for people in their homes for 26 years. Jill loved this job immensely, and shared many interesting and special stories. She sometimes wondered if she could have been a veterinarian as her love of animals was also very strong.
Some of Jill's favorite past times were gardening, bird watching, drawing, reading, and camping (much of which was throughout Michigan and Tennessee). A special place, shared with her family is Lake Michigan, always our favorite place to visit. Jill also had an affinity for elephants because of their great family values. She is one the biggest dog lovers we've known, from her first "baby" Mimi at age 5 to her most recent Emma. However, nothing compared to her enormous love of her husband and for her children. For this, we appreciate our mom more than words could ever express. Mom was truly a best friend.
Jill was kind, caring, loving, and sincere, but never sugarcoated anything. She told you the truth whether you wanted it or not. In fact, Jill (Pill) Parker's senior quote was "Don't come to me for flattery, I'll tell you the truth". Jill was quick to laugh and crack a joke. She was truly a fun loving spirit and will be dearly missed by her children, nieces, nephews, and friends. We take solace knowing she is reunited with her husband, parents, sister, and many friends in heaven. We will love her forever and always remember how wonderful a person and spirit she is.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
