Obituary of Norma Elizabeth Theisen
November 7, 1926 – April 24, 2026
Norma Elizabeth Theisen. Age 99 of River Rouge.
Norma Elizabeth Theisen (Cicotte), born November 7, 1926, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Norma spent the majority of her life in her family home on Oak Street in River Rouge, Michigan, a place she was deeply proud of and where countless memories were made. On September 13, 1947, she married the love of her life, John F. Theisen. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and built a family that became the center of her world.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl, John, David (Debby), and Paul (Laura); her grandchildren: Kristen, Deanne; nieces, nephews, and friends who continue her legacy of love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John F. Theisen, her daughter, Karen Belcher, her daughter-in-law, Sharon, her sister, Joyce DiMaria, and her mother and father, Hugh and Catherine Cicotte.
Norma was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her life. She gave generously to her church and to many charitable causes, always finding ways to help those in need. She volunteered her time at local soup kitchens and at Wyandotte Hospital, where she worked in the gift shop and made connections with everyone she met.
She will be remembered for her sharp wit, her warm and loving conversations, and the way she brought people together. Whether around the kitchen table or during the holidays, Norma created a home filled with laughter, comfort, and care.
Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the advice she shared, and the love she gave so freely to her family.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
