Obituary of Greg F. Tinsler
Greg F. Tinsler
February 27, 1945 - April 27, 2026
Greg Tinsler of Brownstown Township passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 27th. He was 81 years old.
Although born in Detroit, much of his youth was spent on a family farm in Ohio where many of his fondest memories were made with his many cousins, aunts and uncles.
After graduating from High School, he returned to Michigan and started his employment with Ford Motor Company on June 8, 1964. By August of 1965 he received his invite from Uncle Sam and was inducted into the U.S. Army. After completing his Quartermaster Instructor Training Course and expecting to teach stateside, the Army decided that they needed more Heavy Equipment Repairmen in the Republic of Vietnam and so off he went. By the grace of God, he returned home safely and ever after remained a proud Vietnam Vet.
Upon his homecoming he returned to work at the Ford Motor Company, becoming a journeyman Stationary Steam Engineer and retired after 40 years of service in 2004.
During his retirement he enjoyed many years of friendship and travel with his fellow Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiasts until declining health took its toll.
He is survived by Mary, his wife of 58 years, his son, Jeffrey (Katrina), granddaughters Jessica Ruschel (Connor), Lauren Tinsler and his sister, Julie VanBuskirk.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon R. Tinsler, his mother Maude E. McDonald, his brother Vernon R. Tinsler III and his sister Lucy Ann Tinsler.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to Penrickton Center for Blind Children.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936.
