Obituary of Jennifer Farkas
Jennifer Marie Farkas (Serene) passed away on May 6, 2026, following a long illness. She was born on April 17, 1975 in Muskegon. Jen earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from University of Phoenix and worked as a Quality Engineer for Adient (formerly JCI).
Jen was known by all as being kind and generous. She loved adventuring with her husband, Ken, and especially enjoyed camping with family, friends, and their dogs. She organized lots of games for the children at the campground and always made sure they had special treats waiting for them. Jen was also passionate about playing Euchre and never went anywhere without a deck of cards close by.
In her free time, Jen enjoyed listening to audiobooks while working on puzzles. She cherished being a bonus mom to her stepchildren, Kiersten and Mason, niece Jessica, and nephew Joseph. She was the best Aunt Jen to the many other children in her life. An avid animal lover, Jen adored her dogs, Brooklyn and Bailey, whom she loved as her own children. She deeply treasured trips to the theater and spending time with her sister and best friend, Kimberlee.
Jen was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Serene, and her niece, Ashlee Serene.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Farkas; stepchildren, Kiersten and Mason Farkas; mother, Deborah Louks; brother, Christopher (Lisa) Serene; sister, Kimberlee (Christopher) Koning; nephews, Joseph (JaKyrah) Serene and Ethan Farkas; nieces, Jessica Serene, Ella Farkas, and Ellyce Farkas; her beloved fur babies, Brooklyn and Bailey; and countless extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation to the Woodhaven Animal Shelter in Jen’s memory.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
