Obituary of Nezzie Marie Compton

December 16, 1934 – June 12, 2023

Nezzie Compton.  Age 88 of Wyandotte.

Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Ronnie Compton.  Loving mother of Barbara Ann Compton and the late Bethany Sorenson.  Dearest grandmother of Jason (Megan Lesperance) Sorenson, Steven (Adrienne) Sorenson, Brian (Brianda) Sorenson, Rebekah Sorenson, Sarah (Andrew) Allmon and Leah (Colin McCune) Brzyski.  Great grandmother of Tripp, Joseph, Alyza, Nigel, Harlow, Weston, Eben and Solvi.  Dear sister of Guy “Jim” (Ethel) Lowe, Vida “Fern” (the late Billy) Edwards, Eleanor (the late John) Hunt, Joyce (Richard) Cross, the late Robert Lowe, the late Phyllis Yates and the late Lula Daugherty.

Family Tribute ~ 

The family of Nezzie Compton wants to thank you for your condolences on the loss of a wonderful sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Nezzie loved caring for her friends and family. She never missed the chance to shower them with kindness and a home cooked meal. She was at her happiest in the kitchen, at church, and in the arms of Ronnie, her beloved husband of 57 years. Nezzie lived a faith filled life and enjoyed singing in the church choir and caring for those in need.

Nezzie had many hobbies including gardening, crocheting, and quilting. Some of our fondest memories include sharing a loaf of her special pull apart bread at the holidays, enjoying her home grown tomatoes, and listening to her singing church hymns. Nezzie never missed the chance to stop and smell a blooming rose and celebrated even the smallest moments of beauty in life. We will miss her terribly but know that Nezzie’s love will live on in each and every one of our hearts.
