Obituary of MaryAnn Opra

July 24, 1930 – July 8, 2023

MaryAnn Opra, of Lincoln Park, beloved wife of the late George J. Opra Jr., was called home by God on July 8, 2023, at the age of 92.  MaryAnn was a loving mother to her sons George (Linda) Opra, Mark Opra, and daughter in love, Stefanie Edwards. Dearest grandmother to Jimmy and Nicole, and great-grandmother of Madison, Colton and Fisher.

MaryAnn was an avid quilter and crafter and was happiest when she was baking Hungarian desserts for her friends and family. She was also a very active member of The American Hungarian Reformed Church for many years, and a Pink Lady at The Heritage Hospital where brightened many patients’ days.

MaryAnn’s extended family included but was not limited to, June and Andy Nagy, June Boyd, and Marcie Crist, all of whom she adored very much.

MaryAnn will be forever missed and cherished by all.

Memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Cancer Society or American Hungarian Reformed Church, 9901 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI 48101.
