Obituary of Wayne K. Shoup

 

June 17, 1931 – October 4, 2023

 

Wayne K. Shoup.  Age 92 of Riverview.     

 

Beloved husband of Joyce Shoup.  Loving father of John (Karen) Shoup, Rebecca “Becky” (John) Pershon and Michael Shoup.  Dearest grandfather of Brad, Christopher, Tabitha and Cassandra.  Great-grandfather of Michael, Maximus, Marcus and Mathias.  Preceded in death by parents Carl Sr. and Ruth Shoup, an infant son, brothers Carl Shoup Jr., Jack Shoup and Jim Shoup Sr., sisters in-law Leona Shoup, Viola Shoup and Joyce Shoup.

 

 

Family Tribute ~

 

Wayne (Bud) K. Shoup was born June 17, 1931 in Riverview, Michigan.  He graduated from Riverview High School and was a lifelong resident.  Wayne was also an Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War Conflict. 

 

In 1956 Wayne married Joyce Mathias.  Together they share 4 children, John, Rebecca, Michael and the late Baby Boy Shoup.  

 

Wayne was employed by Detroit Edison and later by Riverview Schools and the City of Riverview.   He was Chaplain of the American Legion for 30 years and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church since 1963, where he sang in the church choir.  Wayne was an airplane enthusiast and had many hobbies which included bowling, hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing with his brother Jack, camping and traveling.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
