FAMILY TRIBUTE

My mom was truly one of a kind. Throughout my entire 37 years of life, I can honestly say I never saw her say a mean word towards anyone. She was CONSTANTLY helping others, giving of her time, and lifting others up, never asking for anything in return. I remember going to with my mom to help volunteer at all sorts of places when I was a little girl - Meals
on Wheels, the Crisis Pregnancy Center (where she volunteered for 30 years!), our church, etc. She was constantly sponsoring at least 2 kids  from different countries and would send money, letters, and little gifts. She wanted to sponsor lots more but my dad had to eventually tell her no because we were going to go broke! ;) I watched her take such good care of her elderly family -we would regularly go to visit my great grandma in the nursing home and pick up my other great grandmas to go out for lunch - at a time when they were lonely and didn't have a lot of outside socialization. All these things she happily did with a smile on her face and so much joy in her heart. That joy never left her - up until the day she passed. She fought a 24 year battle with brain cancer and through multiple bouts of radiation, chemo, brain surgeries, etc, she literally never complained. Never stopped smiling. Never felt sorry for herself - and never wanted anyone to feel sorry for her either. She had enormous faith in God that He knew what he was doing and just accepted it as part of her journey.
