THESE ARE TRULY UNPRECEDENTED TIMES
and everyone is having to make sacrifices. Unfortunately, that also has carried over to how we grieve during the loss of a loved one. Ideally, the best way to remember someone we love and care about is by having a gathering and/or service to celebrate that person’s life with family and friends.

We share each other’s grief and find comfort in being together. When we are unable to do that, we have to postpone our traditional ways of honoring the life of a loved one.

As always, we are here for you during this difficult time. We have put together some ideas on how you can celebrate the life of your loved one during social distancing.

We hope you and your family are able to find comfort in these ideas until you are able to come together with family and friends for a future memorial service.

It is important to remember that there are helpful resources a phone call or a text away. You can call your clergy, friends, or family members. There are several hot lines available 24/7. These lines of communication are crucial during these times. If you have children, please know that your child’s school will still have resources available. School counselors are still available if your child is having a difficult time and needs someone to talk to.

Remember, we are all in this together and we need each other’s support. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you need help. Don’t be afraid to communicate with friends and family to check in on them and see how they are dealing with their grief. These are truly difficult times, but we will make it through together.
