Obituary of William Paul "Bill" Hess

William Paul "Bill" Hess — age 84 of Wyandotte passed away peacefully on May 13, 2017. Born on December 6, 1932, beloved father to children Paul (Sue), Brian (Tina), Duane (Stephanie), Kevin (Linda) and Julie (Joe) Nadolski. Treasured "Grandpa" of Lauren, Dustin, Brandon, Aaron, Nicholas, Nolan, Austin, Josh, Jared, Ella, Abby, Joey, Jonathon and Kayelynn. Great-grandfather to Landon and Tanner. Dearest brother of Margaret. Preceded in death by siblings Loris, Chester, Jack, Jean and John. Proud son of the late Earnest and Sylvia Hess. Bill will also be missed tremendously, never forgotten, and remembered with great love and appreciation by his first love and former wife of 38 years, Janet Mallow, of Wyandotte, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill was born and raised in Kimberly, West Virginia before coming to Michigan in 1953 after serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Bill, a long-time resident of Romulus retired from McLouth Steel in 1995 after working over 38 years. Bill was known to be humble and unassuming, and his tremendous willingness to help and assist others extended to his family, friends, and community. His quiet personality, smile and laughter were notable traits. He cheered for his favorite sports teams but was most passionate about following the many endeavors of his cherished grandchildren.
