FAMILY TRIBUTE

Helen Horvath was born on August 11, 1920 on a 40 acre farm on Beech Daly Road. While attending an insurance club dance, she had her eyes on a young guy who she was determined to meet. It turns out that guy became her husband on June 4, 1938. In 1939, they moved into a house on West Road, where they had their 3 children Lydia, Carol, and Cynthia. Then in 1954 they began building a house on the land that was given to them by Helens mother. This house still stands today on Beech Daly Road. It was where she spent nearly 60 years of her life. It was a place where she made many dolls keeping them in a spare bedroom. She also enjoyed baking wedding cakes, making porcelain dolls, gardening, cooking, crafting, and making memories with her family.

Family was very important to Helen and that was shown through things such as Christmas, family BBQ’s, baking endless amounts of cookies, camping, decorating easter eggs, and lots of summer parties. Helen had a very strong faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Flat Rock for all of her life. Helen made a positive impact in everyone’s life, and we are all able to look back on the memories we made with her.
