Family Tribute
Born on August 30 in 1932, Carole Lou Vogel was a devoted soul brought into this world to unconditionally love her friends and family and do everything possible to actively be a part of their everyday lives. Never a holiday, birthday, ceremony, or special occasion was ever overlooked. She always doted on being “a part of everyone’s party!” Putting friends and family first was always her number one priority and she would have done anything and everything to help anyone of them.
Carole was born in Gladstone, Michigan where she was raised as a devout Catholic. She attended All Saints Grade School and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1950. She loved music, dance, and cheering on the GHS cheerleading squad. As a youngster in Gladstone, Carole lived with her family upstairs from their family-owned business, “The Jean Hotel,” where she always kept busy and was very eager to help.
Carole married her lifetime love and soulmate, Herbert Vogel in 1951. They eventually relocated downstate to Wyandotte where they began their family-owned business together, “Detroit Gradall.” Along with clerical and bookkeeping work for the business, Carole was a full time devoted Mom who raised three wonderful children, Greg, Debbie, and Joe. The family relocated to their newly built home in Brownstown in 1978.
In addition to her passion for involvement in family activities, Carole enjoyed bowling for fun and remaining social as a member at the Moose Lodge and Germania Club. She also enjoyed attending all of the local church festivals. Most importantly, Carole would want to be remembered for her strong commitment to being a devoted and practicing Catholic.
Carole Lou Vogel faithfully departed on June 2, 2020, and will be forever missed by many. Rest In Peace, Mom Vogel and may perpetual light shine upon you. Amen.
