Obituary of Mary Tomocik
May 12, 1925 – June 13, 2020
Mary Tomocik. Age 95 of Wyandotte.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Tomocik. Loving mother of Joseph (Tina) Tomocik, Janice (the late Joseph) Peterson and Anna (Vincent) Pattenaude. Dear sister of Stanley Kilyk. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and daughter in-law Kathy. Preceded in death by son John and brothers John, Mike and Joe.
Family Tribute
Mary Tomocik, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother born May 12th, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Mary moved to River Rouge, Michigan as a small child, attended Ann Visger Elementary School, graduating from Rouge High in 1944. Mary met Joseph and they married in 1948. Together they had four children Joseph, Janice, Anna, and John with Mary becoming a widow at 31.
Mary was a hardworking woman and raised her children. She worked at Great lakes Steel in the cafeteria, retiring from there. She learned how to drive at age 65. Mary loved to dance the polka, play bingo, go to the casino, travel with her friends. She loved to read and work word puzzles and spend time with her family. She also loved, loved, loved the Detroit Tigers, and was a faithful fan! Mary would want to be remembered as the best mom and Bau Bau ever.
We as her family will remember her for her bluntness and sharp tongue, her smile and hearing aye, aye, aye Oh Lord!
