Family Tribute

Joanne graduated from Melvindale High School in 1988. She then went to Henry Ford Community College and received her bachelor’s degree in theater and fine arts at Eastern. After the, she went to U of D Mercy and received her master’s and continued working toward her Doctorate.

I am so blessed to have had her for a daughter for 49 years. She loved everyone and was always happy and full of life (kinda the life of the party). She made everyone feel good and they loved her.

Joanne loved to sing….to the point everyone teased her about not being able to carry a tune, but that didn’t stop her; in fact, one day her sister (Deeda) even asked her…."Do you even hear music right?” She just laughed hysterically and kept singing. Any music, all music, even bluegrass, which I’m safe in saying got on Sean’s nerves, sometimes! Lol.

The most important thing I want you to know is she loved the Lord. She started Sunday school when she was 4-years-old, and she has always gone to Church even after she got married. She and Sean always found a home church where they lived. Today she is singing and I know she has a beautiful voice because God knows how much she loved singing! Thank you for all of the memories. Love you.

I cannot end this without telling you about the love she had for animals, especially her Standard Poodle Sebastian. He was her baby and that is how she treated him. I know he will grieve for her. Anytime she saw a dog anywhere, she had to pet it and one day I told her that not all dogs are gentle so she needs to be careful. Her reaction was “Ahhh, they’re just babies.” Yes, even the dogs loved and trusted her.

Joanne, you are forever loved and missed by all. You have left a hole in our hearts and joy in our souls. Until we meet again, keep singing!

Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
