FAMILY TRIBUTE

Ronald A. McKelvey (RAM), 79, of Allen Park, Michigan ascended to the Lord on November 15, 2020.  Ron was born in Derry Township, Pennsylvania on January 6, 1941 to Scotch-Irish parents Bardell McKelvey and Bertha Parker.  He moved to Michigan in the early 60’s and pursued his lifelong occupation as a Carpenter and retired from the Engineering Dept. at Wyandotte General Hospital.  Ron always had a “Leatherman” or an “Attaboy” handy tool for some quick repair or modifications for family and friends. His pride and joy was his 1995 Pearl Goldwing with his RAM & Hot-air ballooning scenes complete with accompanying Side Car with painted lips and eyelashes!  Ron was a Life Member of GWRRA and Charter Member of Chapter H-2 and was an active member up to the time of his passing.  He treasured his many close friends and acquaintances he made over the years.  His friends and family know him fondly as “Handlebars” because of his long-standing Handlebar Mustache, which he proudly groomed and waxed to perfection.  He was always there for friends and family to assist with home improvements and repairs with patience and a teaching tone.  Ron and Judy also spent many years crewing on a Hot Air Balloon Team with husband-and-wife pilots.

Celebration of Life & Bike Brigade will be planned in the spring of 2021, date to be determined, and notices will be sent out closer to that time.
