Obituary of Jennie L. Campbell

September 12, 1924 – January 4, 2021

Jennie L. Campbell.  Age 96 of Lincoln Park.

Jennie Lind Daniels Campbell was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on September 12, 1924 to Lewis H. Daniels and Hazel Hatfield Daniels.  She was raised primarily in her beloved Swan Valley.  She quietly passed away on January 4, 2021 and was greeted by her beloved husband, Arthur Campbell, her only son, Arthur Dale (the late Lois) Campbell, her parents and her siblings:  H. Florence Champion, Norma Sanders, Stella Muller, Lewis James Daniels, C. Henry Daniels, Rose Mary Kilborn and L. June Daniels.  Her youngest brother William Daniels survives her.

Jennie met her husband while he was working for the Civil Conservation Core with a group led by her father.  When World War II began, Arthur joined the Army.  She caught up with him in Riverside, California where they were married on November 6, 1943.  They lived in Texas and Kentucky during his Army service.  At the end of the war, Arthur’s family had followed the job market to Detroit, where he and Jennie established a home and family in Lincoln Park.  She resided in their home for over 70 years, including 24 years after Arthur’s passing.

Jennie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the time she was baptized at age 9 until her death, serving in every possible auxiliary of the church.  Arthur and Jennie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 28, 1968.  Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and friend.  Surviving are her daughters:  Donna (the late Joseph) Kovacs, Deborah (Bruce) White, Jeanette (Gary) Shelton, Rebecca (John) Wilson and Colleen (Ken) Gibbs.  She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, an estimated 44+ great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Although we miss her dearly, we are grateful for the joy of having her with us for over 96 years.  We find peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the thought of her happy reunion with loved ones gone before.
