FAMILY TRIBUTE
It is with great sadness that we post that Elizabeth Ann (Fratangelo) Bogart passed away early Thursday morning. She was surrounded by her five children, daughters/sons in law and some grandchildren when she left us. She lived over 90 full years, being the best Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Daughter, Friend and Selfless person that anyone could know. She/we lost our Dad when she was only 52, yet never married or even dated anyone, as she remained married to the love of her life. She is now reunited in Heaven with Clifford Bogart, along with many in her family gone before her.
She never said a bad word about anyone and she always placed other people and their needs before her own. Selfless, kind, caring, non-judgmental, hard-working, dedicated, loyal, sweet and “Saint on earth” are just some of the words that we believe describe our Mom. She was an outstanding cook, honed from being the oldest sister of eight Fratangelo’s, with parents that came to the US from Italy, then raising 5 kids of her own.
Retired from Wyandotte Public School system as the Head Cook, serving all of the Wyandotte Public Schools, after 31 years of service. She started out at Madison Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, then Roosevelt High School. Outside of this, she also cooked for events including Football, Band and Charitable Fundraising events, to name a few, where she would decline any payment for her services.
Prior to raising her family, Elizabeth was a Meritorious Service Award winner during WWII, as an Office Admin serving at Fort Wayne in Detroit. She was born in Detroit, MI and a Resident of Wyandotte since 1954.
Visitations will be at Nixon Funeral Home on Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte, MI. Please refer to their website for specifics when posted. If inclined, please consider contributing time, talents or resources to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or The American Heart Association (heart.org).
Elizabeth Bogart will be missed every moment and day of our lives. We love you always and forever. Buonanotta Bella Mama.
