Obituary of Leon Edward Puczkowski

August 27, 1948 – August 12, 2017

Leon E. Puczkowski, Age 68 of Southgate.  

Loving brother of Gary Puczkowski, Patrick (Judy) Puczkowski and Dennis Puczkowski. Dear uncle of Kevin, Kelly (Rod) Wescott and the late Bryan. Great uncle of Olivia, Roslyn and Tyler.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Leon went to St. Luke’s Grade School, Salesian Catholic High School (both in Detroit) and later, Highland Park Community College, to study business. He started working at age 18 at Wrigley Supermarket, then at Chrysler in 1968, and continued working as a paint technician until retirement in 2008. He was very well liked at work and made a lot of friends over the 40 years. He liked to do woodworking, loved working with saws, making dog houses, benches and bird houses. Finding treasures while metal detecting with his parents was another pastime, as well as gardening and growing vegetables or flowers -- he could grow them all. Leon always loved when nephews and nieces would visit. His great nieces, Olivia and Roslyn, always had fun with their Uncle Leon. He liked spending time at the casinos in his retirement years. The family always made it a family outing, whether it was to local casinos downtown or enjoying the many shows at the casino in Canada. He was an avid sports fan. He always followed and critiqued the Tigers and Lions, but win or lose, he was a loyal fan. Leon was considered somewhat of a jokester and would always get a little grin on his face when he knew he had you. Leon and his brother Gary had a special bond. They lived together and worked side by side for 40 years. Leon will truly be missed by Gary, his family and friends.
