Mary Margaret Patterson, Age 68 formerly of Southgate, MI.

Loving mother of Ruth (Scott) Field of Kenockee, MI, Andrea (Jeff) Williamson of Hartland, MI and Shannon (Patrick) Schwind of Scottsdale, AZ. Dearest grandmother of Scott Field, Christian Field and Kane Williamson. Dear sister of Deacon Mark (Christine) Hibbs of Forestville, WI, John Hibbs of Flat Rock, MI, Kevin (Kristina) Hibbs of Woodhaven, MI, Steven (Julie) Hibbs of Los Alamitos, CA, Rose Heckman of Southgate, MI and Nancy Layton of Sarasota, FL. Preceded in death by husband Ralph Patterson and parents Mark and Catherine Hibbs.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Many people know Mary Patterson as mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, but she was so much more.  

If there is one thing that Mary has passed on to her daughters, families and those surrounding her, it was her love of music. She loved to get dressed up and go dancing and was especially fond of 60’s and 70’s music.  Dancing with her children when they were small, singing with her sisters and tearing up the dance floor with her brothers and husband were some of her most cherished moments. 

Many didn’t know that Mary was a model at a very young age. She carried through this love of fashion into her into life.  With a flare for the dramatic, Mary missed her calling to be in a black and white movie or a musical. She wore out her DVD collection of classics like Ben-Hur and Seven Brides for seven brothers. We know she is in heaven dancing with Gene Kelly or singing with Sinatra, wearing a blue dress and her favorite heels right now. 

Above all, Mary’s love of family was her greatest joy. Always thinking of her family and loved ones, before herself. Nothing made her happier than seeing family together, supporting and loving one another.

We will all love and miss her dearly but we know we’ll see her again.
