Obituary of Margaret L. Grimshaw
August 1, 1925 – September 13, 2017
Margaret L. Grimshaw. Age 92 of Wyandotte. Beloved wife of the late Charles “Vern” Grimshaw. Loving mother of Janice Garrison. Dearest grandmother of Scott (Leigh) and Gregory (Melissa). Dear sister of Norma Jean Beaudin. Great grandmother of Maya, Hanna, Charlie and Sam.
FAMILY TRIBUTE
Margaret was the fifth born of ten children into her family in Herman, Pennsylvania. At the age of sixteen she came to Michigan and attended High School in Ecorse, Michigan. It was there that she met Charles Vernon Grimshaw, who later became her loving husband. They resided in Wyandotte, where they raised one daughter.
Margaret was very artistic. Her hobbies included oil painting photos that her husband took and developed, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, ceramics, and music. She also loved to travel the U.S. in the motorhome she said "Vern" owned.
Margaret was a member of the "Sweet Adelines" and also the St. Joseph Church choir for several years. She loved to sing and continued to share a song well into her 90's.
Family meant everything to her. She was a devoted mother to Janice. She loved her grandsons Scott and Gregory, beyond measure. It was a source of great joy for her to watch them grow into good husbands and fathers. Margaret loved to have family at her home for gatherings. She would spend weeks planning every detail. She liked things to be perfect. Many happy memories of those special times will remain with her family forever.
She was a very special, and unique lady who will be greatly missed.
