Obituary of Yolanda Patiño Huizar
June 3, 1959 – March 17, 2021
Yolanda Patiño Huizar. Age 61 of South Lyon.
Yolanda Patiño Huizar, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and all around good, sweet person died Wednesday, March 17th. She was 61 years old.
Yolanda had been in Miami to escape Michigan’s cold. Anyone who knows Yolanda knows she loves warmth, the sun and the beach. It is fitting that, although untimely, her passing was in a place that had all of those elements.
Yolanda attended Holy Redeemer school for grade and high school, and upon graduation, she attended Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University, where she received both her bachelors and masters degrees. Yolanda was a proud Sparty … she was green and white all the way!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arturo Patiño and Elvira Hernandez Patiño.
Yolanda is survived by her daughters, Estella Huizar-Kaczmarek (Dave), Natalia and Elena, her grandchildren, Lily and Liam and Ophelia and Logan. She is also survived by her siblings Arturo (Irma), Mario (Emilia), Susana (Virgilio), Danny (Marge), Norma and many nieces and nephews.
Yolanda’s passing has left a void in the lives of the many people she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Yolanda Patiño Huizar can be made to Detroit Cristo Rey High School, 5679 Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48209.
