Obituary of William 'Bill' L. Baltzell

William L. 'Bill' Baltzell.  Age 77 of Riverview.

William (Bill) Baltzell of Riverview, Michigan passed away on April 16, 2021. Bill was born on February 28, 1944, in Tiffin, Ohio to William and Ruth (Borer) Baltzell. Bill was the oldest of 8 Siblings: Michael (Mary) Baltzell, Jeff (Vicky) Baltzell, Lorrie Harvey, Christine Baltzell, Mary (Craig) Zimmerman, Thomas (Peggy) Baltzell, and the late David Baltzell. He was a graduate of Calvert High School Class of 1962. His senior year he was named All-Conference and All-State in Football. Bill then went on to the University of Dayton and graduated with an associate degree in chemistry in 1964. Upon graduation, he started working for the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base just outside of Dayton, Ohio. Once he left the Air Force Base, he began his life-long career as a Sales Engineer working for companies in Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois. After retirement, Bill became a courier specializing in expediting deliveries – a job that allowed him to travel all over the state, country, and even internationally.


Bill married Sharon (Forster) Baltzell on April 23, 1977. He was a loving father of David (Brandee) Baltzell, Alison (Scott) Duley, Audra Baltzell, and Gregory (Tracy) Baltzell. He was a beloved grandfather of Isabel Baltzell, Benjamin Baltzell, Evelyn Duley, and the late William J. Duley. In his spare time, Bill was an avid reader. He loved all sports, especially football. Bill was known for his quick wit, good-natured teasing, and excellent sense of humor. He never met a stranger in his life and could keep anyone captivated with his unique and hilarious storytelling. Bill’s smile was infectious, and he was renowned for his kindness and joyful spirit. He was beloved by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
