Obituary of Frank Snoes

February 7, 1924 – October 15, 2017

Frank Snoes.  Age 93 of Trenton.  Frank died peacefully after a short hospital and rehab stay.  He is survived by his devoted wife Audrey, four sons; Ronald (Joann), Jerry (Christine), Larry (Linda) and Mark.  Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his first wife Gladys.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Frank was born on February 7, 1924 in Kitchener, Ontario.  He was raised by his father John and his stepmother Anna.  His life as a young boy growing up on a farm with seven siblings was a busy one.  He learned the value of hard work and continued that throughout his life.  Frank worked on the family farm until he met and married Gladys White.  Gladys was just 18 and Frank was 22.  When they married he went to work at the Kingsville Co-op.  Frank and Gladys raised a family of three boys; Ron, Jerry (also called Jack) and Larry before moving to the U.S. in 1956.  Their youngest son Mark, was born in the U.S.  Frank worked at several major food chains throughout his life.  Frank and Gladys had dreams of retiring at a home they were building on Lake Bellaire.  That dream was cut short by Gladys’ unexpected death at age 58.  Several years later Frank would marry Audrey Simpson.  Audrey and Gladys had been best friends for many years.  Very devoted to each other, Frank and Audrey were married for over 30 years.  They lived on Lake Bellaire until moving to Jonesville and then to Trenton, Michigan.  Frank always enjoyed his flowers and garden.  He definitely had a green thumb, growing tomato plants as tall as his garage and the most beautiful flowers ever.  Frank also enjoyed bowling and fishing for many years and was a great fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Red Wings.  Frank was a very kind, caring husband and father, even in the later years when he experienced dementia.  He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Audrey, the rest of his family and all who knew him.
