Obituary of Thomas E. Johnson
November 15, 1932 – May 13, 2021
Thomas E. Johnson. Age 88 of Southgate.
Beloved husband of the late Frances Johnson and the late Claudia Woodward Johnson.
Loving father of Bruce and his wife, Danielle, of Marblehead, MA, and beloved grandfather to their son, Finnian. Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Francis, and sister-in-law, Joan; he is survived by his brother Phil and his wife Peggy, and sister-in-law, Nancy. Tom is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Family Tribute
Tom was born to Thomas E. Johnson Sr. and Doris (nee: Collette) Johnson of Melrose, Massachusetts, He was the eldest of 4 boys. He graduated from Melrose High School in Massachusetts. Following graduation, he served in the Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Melrose and married Frances Baglio.
Tom worked for General Electric for over 25 years and retired from G.E. in Lynn, MA. After the passing of his first wife, Fran, Tom moved to Michigan, and married Claudia Woodward. Tom and Claudia attended St. Joseph Church in Wyandotte, where he enjoyed being an usher at Sunday Mass. He enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, and his daily visits to the local Dunkin Donuts. Tom also enjoyed the company of his many cherished friends.
