Obituary of William Frank Murphy
William F. Murphy. Age 90 of Southgate.
Grandfather, golfer, and Rachmaninoff fan, William F. Murphy passed away May 24, surrounded by family in his final days. Bill had just rounded 90 years of age.
"Murphy" grew up in Dearborn, graduating Dearborn High in ’49 and serving in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bragg before starting a long career with Jones Transfer Trucking Co.
Bill lived in Taylor, Grosse Ile, and Columbus, OH, retiring in Fairfield Glade, TN then moving back to Michigan in 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sarah (McFadden) and William Sr, his sister Gloria Rawlings and wives Darlene (Capilla) and Nancy (McKinstrey).
He is survived by his children Sharon Killian, Donna Mitchell, Michael Murphy, Patricia Trap; grandchildren Sarah Beatty, Cole Killian, Delaney and Ella Mitchell, Bridger Trap; great-grandchild Samuel Beatty; and sisters Nancy Bretz and Sally Chlystek.
His internment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a date later this year.
