March 28, 1943 - June 12, 2021

Patricia Ann McKanna. Age 78 of Grosse Ile.

Beloved sister of Francis “Bud” McKanna and Michael (Sue) McKanna. Loving aunt of Alyson (Phil) Leone, Karen (Greg) Snyder, Stephen McKanna, Brian (Trudy) McKanna, and Megan (Joe) Porcaro. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and by one great-great niece. She is preceded in death by her older sister, Judy McKanna, and her parents Patricia Ellen and Francis Joseph McKanna.

Patricia was born on March 28, 1943 in Detroit, MI and raised in Lincoln Park, MI with her parents and siblings. After graduating from the University of Michigan for both her Bachelors degree and  Masters degree in Library Science, she then went on to become the director of the Rochester Public Library for many years. Wanting a career change, Patricia was accepted to the University of Detroit School of Law for the class of 1981. From there, she had a successful career at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn Law Firm, retiring at the age of 75.

Patricia had many loves. First and foremost was time spent with her family and friends. From days spent at Holland House and on Lake Michigan to dinners, the theater and shopping, watching Downton Abbey and the Detroit Tigers baseball games. Travel was also her passion, having traversed the globe with family and friends, as well. London, Ireland, Hong Kong and Italy were just a few, with New York City and Stratford holding a special place in her heart.
