Earl E. Tolbert. Age 87 of Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Beloved husband of the late Mildred Tolbert. Loving father of Earl Tolbert, Diane Pantanella, Timothy (Debra) Tolbert, Mark (Erma) Tolbert, Larry (Laura) Tolbert, Donald Tolbert, Janet (Jeff Carr) Maki, Matt (Jasmine) Tolbert, the late Kathy Drouillard and the late Jimmy Tolbert. Also survived by 26 grandchildren , 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Dearest brother of Bill Taylor, and father in law of the late Tracy Tolbert, and the late Dave Maki.
Life Story
Earl Eugene Tolbert, 87, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, in Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born July 22, 1934, to William and Christina in Wyandotte, Michigan. A devoted husband to Mildred Tolbert for 59 years, the two were loving parents of 10 children. Earl was a proud grandfather of 26, a great grandfather of 33, and great-great-grandfather of 3. Earl was sincerely loved and respected by his family, and he cared deeply for each of his descendants.
Earl worked for 38 years as a dedicated employee of Great Lakes Steel at Zugg Island as a Blast Furnace Operator. A skilled craftsman, carpenter, and mechanic, he was known for his ability to build and fix anything. Earl also enjoyed taking road trips to Florida and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, a passion he instilled in his sons. Later in life, much of his time was spent tending to his property in Port Sanilac, Michigan, and enjoying his cabin, a place nicknamed the Owl House. Earl spent his final months at his son Matthew’s home in Oak Harbor, Ohio surrounded by his loving family. He will be fondly remembered for his humor, intelligence, and strength and will be greatly missed by all.
