Arthur W. John. Age 76 of Brownstown.
Beloved husband of Bessie “Irene” John. Loving father of Jeffrey (Deana) John and the late Christopher Allen. Dearest grandfather of Terrence and Michael.
FAMILY TRIBUTE
Arthur W. John was born on March 7, 1941 to Arthur W. John and Ruth Kay Blair. He was one of three children, his siblings Thomas John, and Jean Logan (John).
Arthur ran cross country and wrestled while he was in high which he graduated in 1959 and then attended University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1962. After college, Arthur served in the Army and Merchant Marines from February 1962 until February 1965.
Arthur married the love of his life, Irene, on December 3, 1965. They would have two sons, Christopher and Jeffery. He would later become the proud grandfather to Terrence William and Kenneth Michael. Arthur was a General Manager for Kmart Corp. for 26 years.
Arthur was very involved in the Presbyterian Church. He served as a deacon and was a member for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching the Steelers and the Pirates. Arthur was a superior chess player and avid golfer. He was even a part of a local senior golf league.
More than anything he loved spending time and being with his wife and his family.
