Obituary of Herman W. Douglas

March 21, 1950 – December 8, 2021

Herman W. Douglas.  Age 71 of Lincoln Park.

Beloved husband of Pamela Douglas. Loving father of Eudina (Russell) Hilliard, April (Terry) Hardy, Jason (Sandra) Douglas and Samantha (David) Johnson.  Dearest grandfather of Jacob, Russell, Allison, Faith, Savannah, Grace, Sierra, Aubree and the late Madison.

Family Tribute

Some of dad's fondest memories are from the days he attended Western High School where he worked on the school newspaper with Gary Hill. They were able to miss school to attend ball games to report on. He was very involved in his church where he had several roles including Superintendent, Deacon, Bus Driver, and Usher. 

We will miss his daily dad jokes, calling us early on our birthdays to sing us the birthday song, and most of all we will miss him singing Davey Crockett.

He had a love for watching classic westerns and wrestling. He also enjoyed Elvis Presley music and being called "Sherman." Some of his other loves in life included spending time with his family, playing checkers (which he was the master of), doing his yardwork, and sitting outside to people watch. He could often be found wearing suspenders, which he loved, and enjoying popcorn, coffee, and chili dogs. 

Dad loved to tease and joke with the grandkids. Savannah and Allison will miss rubbing Papaw's bald head for good luck.  Faith, will miss all the wisdom talk he gave her.
