Obituary of Darius Wiley Rondeau

December 18, 1984 – December 10, 2021

Darius Rondeau.  Age 36 of Wyandotte.

We write with great sadness of the death of Darius Rondeau, age 36 years of Wyandotte, MI on December 10, 2021.  Despite numerous physical challenges, Darius brought love and joy to his extended family and friends.  In return, at key points, certain angels appeared to lighten the load, and to fill his life with love and caring.

Early in his life these included his adoptive parents Bill and Susan Rondeau, predeceased.  Survived by his brothers Richard, Matthew, Adam, Jacob and Benjamin Rondeau, sisters, Vicki, Tessann, Allison, Jessa Rondeau, Joyceann Maynard and their respective spouses and partners, and numerous aunts, uncles, and nephews.

Life, though joyful, was not easy and sprinkled with challenges.  Many wondered who could possibly provide the care, support, and energy needed if his parents were no longer able.  That question was called on the death of Darius’ surviving parent, Susan, in 2020.  At that moment, another angel was called forth:  Norman Green.  Norman was a frequent visitor to the Rondeau household and integral to Darius’ care.  Providing support for Norman were his family members:  surviving wife Susan, children, Shantell, Shai’ann, Norman Green IV, and grandson CJ.

Friends became bonded; bonds became deeper however, it was a big step to go from part-time caregiver to principal guardian.  Norman never hesitated or compromised.  Norman, Darius couldn’t have done it without you … we couldn’t have done it without you and your special commitment.

In these relationships we often ask, “who benefited more: Darius, or those who love and surrounded him?”  The answer is “both”.  Big D, big brother, thanks for the honor of your company … now rest.
