Family Tribute

Alvin Taylor was born in Cambridge, Ohio on October 3, 1939, to Ethel Charlene and Alvin Lorenzo. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1956. He had two sisters, Carol and Sandra. After graduation, Alvin enlisted in the United States Army as a Medic Specialist and was honorably discharged in September 1967. When he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, Alvin met the love of his life, Carolyn. They were married on April 8, 1967, in Manhattan, Kansas. They moved to River Rouge where he was employed at Hydromatic. During this time, his eldest son Brian was born. Son, Jeff was born almost a year later and they moved to their current home where they resided for 53 years.

In 1970 they were blessed with another son, Marc. Throughout his working life, Alvin was employed at McLouth Steel, Nixon Funeral Home, and Wyandotte School District. Alvin was involved in the Athletic Booster Club, Masons, Scottish Rite and volunteered on the Board of Trustees and choir at First United Methodist Church of Wyandotte. Because of incidents in the Army, Alvin was hard of hearing which made it hard to communicate with others. Alvin was always willing to help anyone in need. His Grandchildren, Alexandria, Ian, Victoria, Connor, Emma, Jacqueline, Jennah, Carson, and Jason were the lights of his life. Whenever they came to visit, a smile appeared on his face. Alvin enjoyed home improvements, fishing, and bowling.
