Obituary of Ronald Lee Smith
August 22, 1945 – May 4, 2022
Ronald L. Smith, age 76 of Woodhaven, passed away on May 4, 2022. His final day’s were spent surrounded by the family he loved so much.
Ron was born on August 22, 1945 to Dorothy and the late Arthur Smith. Beloved husband of Rosalie Smith for 56 years. Loving father of Arthur (Amy) Smith, Dorothy (Thomas) Harvey and Samuel (Diane) Smith. Dearest grandfather of Thomas (Meg), Brittany (Troy) and Kyle. Great grandfather of Ryleigh, Jacob and Natalie. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Smith.
He was a devoted husband, father, Papa and friend. He met his wife, Rosalie at 16 years old and the pair got married when he was 19. He cherished their marriage and rarely removed his wedding ring.
Ron was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed taking his boat out on Lake Erie. He enjoyed deer hunting, and seldom missed the opening season of deer hunting in the fall. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He was always the last to open his gifts because he loved seeing the excitement of his family opening their Christmas presents. His later life and retirement years was enriched with tending to his vegetable garden and being active in his Woodland Church Community.
Above all else, he was a giving and unforgettable man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
