Obituary of Violet Claire Drause

May 29, 1925 – December 24, 2017

Violet C. Drause, Age 92 of Taylor.  

Beloved wife of the late Walter Drause. Loving mother of Thomas (Susan) Drause and Valerie Drause Beason. Dearest grandmother of Thomas Drause, Jr., and Matthew Drause. Dear sister of Florence Ciuccio and the late Frances Sorts. 

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Violet C. Drause was the wife of Walter Drause, they had two children Thomas and Valerie.

She worked for Hudson’s at Southland Mall, having begun when the store opened its doors, retiring after 27 years of work that she loved doing. She also worked extra hours from home doing hair to save money up for her children to attend college.

She was absolutely the biggest fan of her family EVER!

She always took great pride in her children, Thomas and Valerie, who were the first in the family to graduate from college and she helped them make that happen. Then her grandsons followed in their steps.

Her grandsons, Thomas Jr. and Matthew have grown into well established men in their given careers and they loved her very much.  They would happily dance to polka music with her at the St. Pius Labor Day Festival where she was a member all of her adult life. At the festival she would dish out 10’s and 20’s for them to play the games because she knew how much they loved it.

She was always smiling and wanting to feed everyone who walked through the door.  Loved being everybody’s mom and caregiver.  Even in her last few days of life she was talking about buying and selling raffle tickets for the church.  She couldn’t help but be the giving lady we all loved so much.

Another love she had was quilting. She belonged to multiple quilting clubs, traveled to quilting shows and personally hand stitched over 200 loving quilts.
